A new update for Sophos UTM was released today, actually there are two updates:

Previous 9.409 Up2Date could fail to apply on UTMs that were installed with 9.406 or older
I have not yet managed to get the previous update on my virtual UTM to install. This update cannot be installed without errors for me either. After the update, virtual network cards are missing and new network cards are not recognized (VMware ESXi). I have therefore reinstalled my UTM with the latest version. So far, the current update is running with the new installation.
Before updating a virtual UTM, a snapshot should therefore be created so that an executable configuration can be restored quickly in the event of an error.
Hm, bei meinem ESX-Server ist alles glatt gelaufen. Was ein Glück :-). An der Arbeit wird das Update heute Nacht eingespielt. Ist aber eine original Hardware von Sophos. Mache immer das Update als erstes zu Hause, wenn dann keine Probleme auftauchen (Softwareseitig) geht’s dann anschließend auch an der Arbeit online.
Der Fehler mit den gewürfelteten NICs ist wohl nur unter einem ESX aufgetreten. Wir hatten den Fehler auch und mussten alle NICs neu zuordnen. Eine NIC hat sogar immer komplett gefehlt, glücklicherweise war diese noch nicht in Verwendung.
Auf Appliances oder Software-UTMs auf einer Server-Hardware trat der Fehler bei mir nie auf.
Ansonsten bin ich jetzt froh das endlich das Problem mit dem Mail-Pending im MailManager gefixt worden ist. Hier sind die Mails die an die Sandbox gesendet worden sind, einfach von der UTM nicht mehr released worden und blieben dort hängen. Man konnte täglich mehrmals nachschauen und releasen

auch die Anleitung von Michel funktioniert bei mir nicht. In der Datei werden nur 2 Netzwerkkarten angezeigt, auch manuelles Hinzufügen klappt nicht.

Ja das habe viele gemeldet mit dem Update auf einer virtuellen UTM. Sämtliche Netzwerkkarten waren in der falschen Reihenfolge. Vor Jahren habe ich mal eine Anleitung zum fixen geschrieben: https://networkguy.de/?p=577
Nur zur Info:
das kleinere Update 9.409008 war heute morgen eigentlich noch das Große. Man konnte es allerdings nicht installieren, da es einen Konflikt mit einem vorhandenen RPM gab, der wohl nur aufgetreten ist, wenn man auf 9.406 und höher per Update gekommen ist. Da hat Sophos mal wieder gepatzt.

das scheint an Deiner UTM gelegen zu haben – ich konnte das Update ohne Probleme bei mir installieren. Die Netzwerkkarten wurden auch nicht gewürfelt
